A poor, unemployed Ukrainian Canadian citizen is nabbed by the police, imprisoned in a WW1 concentration camp near Banff Alberta & forced to do slave labour. Despite the brutal conditions, he rebels, dreams & conspires to escape. Meanwhile, his ‘Baba’ in Ukraine works her peasant magic to help him.
